Dr. Raman Battish Joins Mercy Philadelphia and Mercy Fitzgerald Hospitals
Conshohocken, PA (December 15, 2011) - Raman Battish, MD has joined the medical staff at Mercy Philadelphia and Mercy Fitzgerald Hospitals as a board-certified gastroenterologist with expertise in advanced therapeutics.
Dr. Battish received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed an internal medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He went on to complete a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Battish recently completed an Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles, where he received training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
EUS allows examination of the layers of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. Organs near the gastrointestinal tract including lungs, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas can be imaged and sampled. In addition to this specialized technique, Dr. Battish will be performing ERCP and endoscopic procedures.
Dr. Battish is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology.
