Mercy Cardiology Earns National Accreditation for Nuclear Medicine Lab
Springfield, PA - Mercy Cardiology at Springfield recently achieved accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL). The accreditation recognizes the practice’s nuclear cardiology lab for providing the highest quality diagnostic services to patients.
“We are excited to earn this accreditation from the ICANL as it helps distinguish our practice as one that consistently delivers safe, non-invasive cardiac imaging services in our community,” says Cardiologist Joseph T. Conroy, DO, who leads the practice’s nuclear lab division.
“For our patients, accreditation means that they are receiving the highest quality care from our experienced and specially-trained team of physicians and technologists.”
The lab at Mercy Cardiology at Springfield is one of a growing number of nuclear cardiology laboratories in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to be recognized for its commitment to high quality patient care and its provision of quality diagnostic testing. Participation in the accreditation process is voluntary. Accreditation status signifies that the facility has been reviewed by an independent agency that recognizes the laboratory’s commitment to quality testing for the diagnosis of heart disease.
In addition to Dr. Conroy, Mercy Cardiology comprises cardiologists John D. Blannett, MD, Peter Correnti Jr., DO, Richard H. Hunn, MD, and Martin J, O’Riordan, MD.
