Mercy Golf Classic Nets $136K for Cancer Care
Darby, PA - Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital and Mercy Philadelphia Hospital hosted the 17th Annual Mercy Golf Classic on September 19, raising $136,000 in proceeds benefiting their cancer care program. More than 120 golfers participated in the event, held at the championship golf course of Aronimink Golf Club.
Over the years, the Golf Classic has attracted numerous sponsors whose support has helped successfully raise hundreds of thousands of dollars. This year, Premier Partners included Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and Duane Morris while Platinum Sponsors included Stevens & Lee and Amerihealth Mercy Family of Companies.
Kathryn Conallen, Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals, expressed appreciation for the golfers’ support.
“We are grateful to have partners like you,” she said. “Funds raised from the golf outing allow us to continue to invest in the clinical and advance technology resources necessary to meet the ever-changing health care needs in our communities.”
The comprehensive Mercy Cancer Care program includes community screenings and education, advanced diagnostics and imaging, care coordination by specially-trained nurse navigators, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, minimally invasive surgery, access to genetic counseling, rehabilitation, wound care, Spiritual Counseling and support groups.
