Theresa Conejo, RN, Appointed to American Heart/Stroke Association's Regional Board of Directors
NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA, PA - Nazareth Hospital's Theresa "Terry" Conejo, RN, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Heart/Stroke Association's Great Rivers Affiliate. The AHA's Great Rivers Affiliate includes five states: Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky.
Conejo has been an AHA advocate in the PA 8th Congressional District for over four years, received the Great Rivers Affiliate Distinguished Achievement Award in 2009 and currently serves on the AHA National Advocacy Committee. She also was named the 2009 recipient of the Henrietta Villaescusa Award for Community Service by the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN).
Nazareth Hospital, a nationally certified Primary Stroke Center, earned the American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines Gold Plus Sustained Performance Award for Stroke Care and recently received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award for Heart Failure Care. Nazareth Hospital has received national certification and The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for Heart Failure Care, and in 2011, launched interventional coronary angioplasty to expand access to cardiac care for the community.
