Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital Opens New Infusion Center
Darby, PA (October 23, 2012): Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital opened its new Infusion Center for patient care yesterday. The new Infusion Center features eight private treatment stations for chemotherapy and other infusion therapies, reclining chairs, flat-screen TVs, free WiFi access, and designated free parking for patients.
“We are excited to offer a modern space where patients can receive their treatments comfortably and conveniently,” said hospital Executive Director/Administrator Karen Javie. “The new Infusion Center is the latest in our efforts to provide improved access to our high-quality cancer care program.
The 1,744-square-foot center is located on the ground floor of the hospital’s Medical Science Building, along with related Mercy Cancer Care services, including the Mercy Oncology physician practice, radiation oncology department, nurse navigator office and Cancer Care Resource Center where support groups are held.
In addition to infusion services, the comprehensive Mercy Cancer Care program includes community screenings and education, advanced diagnostics and imaging, care coordination by specially-trained nurse navigators, radiation therapy, minimally invasive surgery, access to genetic counseling, rehabilitation, wound care, Spiritual Counseling and support groups.
