Mercy Golf Classic Raises $120,000 for Cancer Care Programs at Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals
Darby, PA (September 19, 2012) - Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital and Mercy Philadelphia Hospital hosted the 18th Annual Mercy Golf Classic on September 17, raising $120,000 in proceeds directly benefiting the Mercy Cancer Care program. More than 100 golfers participated in the event, held at the Aronimink Golf Club, home of 2010 and 2011 AT&T National.
“It is so incredibly important to be able to provide cancer care programs to the members of our community and those who are patients,” said Kathryn Conallen, CEO and Senior Vice President of Acute Care Operations. “The support of our sponsors truly allows us to meet the standards of quality cancer care, and we are especially grateful for their contributions to this great cause.”
Over the years, the Golf Classic has attracted numerous sponsors whose support has helped successfully raise hundreds of thousands of dollars. This year, Premier Partners included Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and Duane Morris while Stevens & Lee was a Platinum Sponsor.

The comprehensive Mercy Cancer Care program includes community screenings and education, advanced diagnostics and imaging, care coordination by specially-trained nurse navigators, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, minimally invasive surgery, access to genetic counseling, rehabilitation, wound care, Spiritual Counseling and support groups.
