Mercy Golf Classic Set for September 17
Annual tournament benefitting Mercy Cancer Care to be held at Aronimink Golf Club
Darby, PA (June 20, 2012): Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital and Mercy Philadelphia Hospital will host the 18th Annual Mercy Golf Classic on Monday, September 17 at the championship golf course of Aronimink Golf Club.
Registration and range will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. The tournament will start at 1:00 p.m. with a shotgun start – individual stroke play format. Participants will conclude the day at the deluxe surf and turf dinner reception and awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m.
The Mercy Golf Classic, which has attracted hundreds of golfers over the years, will feature a hole-in-one contest with the chance to win a brand new vehicle. The event also attracts numerous sponsors, including Premier Partner Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union.
Proceeds from the Mercy Golf Classic will benefit the Mercy Cancer Care program at Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals. The comprehensive Mercy Cancer Care program includes community screenings and education, advanced diagnostics and imaging, care coordination by specially-trained nurse navigators, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, minimally invasive surgery, access to genetic counseling, rehabilitation, wound care, Spiritual Counseling and support groups.
Home of the 2011 AT&T National, Aronimink Golf Club is located on 3600 St. Davids Road in Newtown Square.
