Nazareth Hospital Announces New Nursing Leaders
NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (September 4, 2012): Nazareth Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of several experienced and well-respected nursing professionals to the hospital’s nursing leadership team.
Joanne Blaker, BSN, RN, has accepted the position of Director of Nursing at Nazareth Hospital, overseeing six acute care units including Neuroscience, Orthopedics, Oncology and Acute Rehabilitation. Joanne received her BSN from Thomas Jefferson University and is currently pursuing her MSN in Health Care Administration at Holy Family University. Joanne was formerly the Nurse Manager of the Telemetry/Trauma/Orthopedic Units at Aria Health Hospital.
Lorraine F. Bigony, MSN, RN, CNOR, ONC, has accepted the position of Director of Perioperative Services at Nazareth Hospital. Lorraine received her BSN from Immaculata University and her MSN from George Washington and brings over 20 years of perioperative nursing, education and leadership experience to her new role. Lorraine most recently served as the Nurse Manager of Surgical Services at Aria Health, Bucks County.
Daniel Pfeffer, MSN, RN, FACHE, CCRN, CPHQ, CENP, also joined the hospital a few months ago as Director of Nursing, Critical Care and Emergency Services. Dan’s career has spanned 19 years and includes experience in emergency medicine, ICU/CCU, and acute care nursing leadership, most recently at Cape Regional Medical Center where he served as Nursing Director of the Emergency Department since 2010.
Elaina March-Donaldson, BSN, MHA, RN, CCM, RN, BSN, MHA, CCM, has joined Nazareth Hospital as Director of Care Management. Elaina was previously care Management Manager at Albert Einstein Health Care Network. Elaina’s 27-year career includes experience in Care Management as Nurse Care Manager, Utilization Management/Case Management, and in Dialysis as Director of Nursing, Disease Management/Practice Management.
Tina D’Armiento, MSN, RN, has accepted the position of Patient Care Manager of 3 Telemetry. Tina received her BSN and her MSN in Nursing Education, from Thomas Edison State College, Trenton New Jersey. Tina most recently served as the Nurse Manager of a 28-bed medical/surgical unit at Capital Health, Trenton New Jersey.
Barbara Gehringer, MBA, BSN, RN, is Nazareth Hospital’s new Manager of Care Coordination. A graduate of Temple University and La Salle University, Barbara worked at Aria Healthcare for over 30 years in care management, nursing supervision, labor and delivery, med-surg, stepdown, and ICU. Barb is also certified in case management.
Joseph Pearce, BSN, CNRN, has been appointed Patient Care Manager of Nazareth Hospital’s Emergency Department. A graduate of Kutztown University, Joe has served at Nazareth in multiple staff and leadership roles since 1985.
