Stein Named President-Elect of Philadelphia Area Society for Health Care Risk Management
Conshohocken, PA: Jay Stein, associate vice president, risk management at Mercy Health System, has been named president-elect of the Philadelphia Area Society for Health Care Risk Management (PASHRM) for 2012. Stein will serve as president of PASHRM for two years beginning January, 2013.

PASHRM is an affiliated chapter of the American Society for Health Care Risk Management (ASHRM). The organization is designed to encourage the free exchange of information between professionals in the health care field to improve health care delivery, reduce risk to patients as well as the health care providers, and disseminate information on current trends in health care. PASHRM members include professionals who have primary responsibility for, or actively participate on behalf of a health care provider in risk management, quality assurance, corporate compliance, safety, utilization review, corporate legal, and loss control activities
As Society president, Stein will provide overall leadership and oversight to all PASHRM activities and promote growth and development of the organization. He will also represent the Society and its members at national ASHRM events.
Stein previously served as treasurer, legislative chair, secretary, and legislative and education co-chair on the Board of Directors for PASHRM. He also served as president of the organization in 2001-2002. Prior to his long-standing position at Mercy Health System, Stein held risk management directorship positions with Graduate Health System and Temple University.
