Anil Deshpande, MD, FACCP Joins Mercy Suburban Hospital and Nazareth Hospital 

Dr. Anil Deshpande, Cardio Thoracic Surgeon Philadelphia/E. Norriton, PA (April 9, 2013) -- Thoracic surgeon Anil Deshpande, MD, FACCP has joined J. March Maquilan, MD and Haji Shariff, MD at Mercy Thoracic Surgery at Mercy Suburban Hospital in East Norriton and Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia. Mercy Thoracic Surgery is dedicated to the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the chest.  

An accomplished surgeon, researcher and educator, Dr. Deshpande has completed advanced clinical training in video-assisted thorascopic surgery, endovascular AAA repair, bi-ventricular support system, endoscopic saphenous vein harvest, beating heart surgery, lung volume reduction surgery, endovenous laser therapy, thoracic stent graft training and hyperbaric medicine team training. 

“We are excited to add Dr. Deshpande’s skills and extensive experience to our group,” said Dr. Maquilan and Dr. Shariff. “He joins us in providing advanced, high-quality compassionate care and minimally invasive techniques to patients suffering from diseases of the lung, trachea, esophagus, chest wall and mediastinum.” 

Dr. Deshpande is director of cardiothoracic surgery at Saint Mary Medical Center and was previously associated with Cardiothoracic & Vascular Associates of Hamilton and Delaware Valley Cardiovascular Surgical Associates. Before coming to Mercy Suburban Hospital and Nazareth Hospital, Dr. Deshpande was affiliated with many other prestigious medical centers, including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Allegheny University Hospital, Capital Health System, Episcopal Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, Lower Bucks Hospital, and St. Mary Medical Center. 

Dr. Deshpande is board certified and earned his medical degree from T.N. Medical College in Bombay and completed his residencies at Hahnemann University Hospital, Temple University School of Medicine and St. Francis Medical Center. He lives in Newtown, PA.
