Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals Announce Date for 19th Annual Mercy Golf Classic Benefitting Mercy Cancer Care
Darby, PA (August 9, 2013): Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital and Mercy Philadelphia Hospital will host the 19th Annual Mercy Golf Classic on Monday, September 16 at the championship golf course of Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square.
Registration and range will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:15 a.m. The tournament will start at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start – individual stroke play format. Participants will conclude the day at the deluxe surf and turf dinner reception and awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m.
The Mercy Golf Classic, which has attracted hundreds of golfers over the years, will feature a hole-in-one contest with the chance to win a brand new vehicle. Special gifts will also be provided for each golfer.
Proceeds from the Mercy Golf Classic will benefit the Mercy Cancer Care program at Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals, allowing for the continuation and expansion of the program by providing patients and families with the resources necessary to go from cancer diagnosis to survivorship. The comprehensive Mercy Cancer Care program provides vital cancer programs including screenings, education and support groups, in addition to advanced diagnostics and imaging, the latest in treatment options, a multidisciplinary approach to care, care coordination by specially-trained nurse navigators, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, minimally invasive surgery, access to genetic counseling, rehabilitation, wound care, and Spiritual Counseling.
