Mercy Home Health Receives Faultless State Survey Results

The PA Department of Health State Survey for Home Health Agencies recently conducted an unannounced Medicare recertification survey February 19 through February 22 to evaluate Mercy Home Health to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.  Mercy Home Health was found to be in compliance with the Federal Conditions of Participation for Home Health Agencies and had no deficiencies.  The surveyor conducted 10 visits with our clinicians covering all disciplines including skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, home health aides as well as the Mom/Baby program.  Throughout the survey various policies, human resources charts and over 20 patient charts were reviewed.  Additionally, the surveyor conducted home visits and interviewed patients to gauge patient perception and quality of care received.  The patients gave Mercy Home Health clinician’s top ratings.

Mercy Home Health serves over 27,000 patients annually. In 2012, Mercy Home Health exceeded state and national benchmark in the areas of Patient Satisfaction, Improvement in Pain, Improvement in Ambulation, Improvement in Oral Medical Management and Drug Education provided. This unannounced survey is mandated by the state and is conducted every three years.  The next visit will take place in 2016.
