Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals Add Oncology Social Worker

Darby, PA (October 5, 2015) – The Mercy Cancer Care program at Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals has announced that Kara Cruz, MSW, LSW, OSW-C has joined their team as oncology social worker.

In this role, Cruz will provide supportive counseling, assistance and resource management to cancer patients, survivors and their families. She will work closely with physicians, cancer program leaders and other members of the multidisciplinary team to promote a coordinated approach to care. Cruz also provides services at Nazareth Hospital.

Cruz joins a team of physician specialists, oncology nurse navigators, and specially trained staff who provide a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care. The Mercy Cancer Care program at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital and Mercy Philadelphia Hospital is nationally accredited and offers advanced diagnostics and cancer treatment technologies, support services, Spiritual Counseling, clinical trials and genetic testing and counseling.
