Mercy Philadelphia Hospital Offering Free Prostate Screenings

West Philadelphia, PA (January 13, 2015): Mercy Philadelphia Hospital will offer free prostate screenings on Wednesday, January 28, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The screenings will include a prostate examination by an urologist and a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test.

Men who are 50 years or older, or have a family history of prostate cancer are encouraged to take advantage of the free screening. Starting at age 50, men should discuss the pros and cons of prostate cancer testing with their doctor to decide if testing is the right choice for them. African Americans or men whose father or brother had prostate cancer before age 65, should have this talk with their doctor by age 45.

Appointments are required for free prostate screenings. To learn more or to schedule an appointment, call 215.748.9600.
