Free Smoking Cessation Classes Offered at Nazareth Hospital
NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA, PA (August 9, 2016): Nazareth Hospital is proud to offer a series of free smoking and tobacco cessation classes to individuals looking to quit smoking cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and/or smokeless tobacco use.
Classes are designed to help smokers and tobacco users kick the habit by providing the knowledge, techniques and support they need to become tobacco free. Sessions include: understanding addiction, behavior change strategies, coping mechanisms for urges and stress, education on healthy lifestyle choices, access to resources for nicotine replacement therapy, and relapse prevention.
The Smoking and Tobacco Cessation Classes will take place on Wednesdays; from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the 7th floor Rehab Conference Room located at 2601 Holme Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19152. The classes will take place on Wednesdays from September 14 – October 26. Registration for the program is required.
According to the American Cancer Society, tobacco use remains the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the United States.
