Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals Achieve Stage 6 of the HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Adoption Model

himssPhiladelphia, PA (February 18, 2016): Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals were recently moved up to a Stage 6 rating on the HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Adoption ModelSM. This places Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia among 27% of hospitals in America that carry a Stage 6 designation.

The 8-stage model was created in order to track the progress of healthcare organizations across the country. HIMSS Analytics provides these maturity models to focus on significant areas of healthcare advancement like the EMR. Stage 6 represents closed loop care coordination across care team members. Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals continue to implement new technology solutions, improving patient engagement across the board.

Being close to Stage 7 means that Mercy is almost operating in an environment without paper charts. Transforming into the highest standards held by the EMR Adoption Model makes it not only easier for the physicians, but more importantly for the patients. With trusted resources from HIMSS Analytics, Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia will continue to improve its IT strategic roadmap and market strategy to uniquely position itself in the growing industry.
