Nazareth Hospital Achieves Recertification for Hip and Knee Replacement

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (November 8, 2016): Nazareth Hospital hosted The Joint Commission for recertification surveys in late October and has again earned The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval™ and two-year certification for its hip and knee replacement programs. Disease-specific certification is awarded by The Joint Commission based on a program’s compliance with national standards, implementation of clinical guidelines, and achievement of excellent care outcomes.

“Receiving this recertification shows our dedication at Nazareth Hospital to providing the community with the best care,” said Nancy Cherone, Executive Director/Administrator, Nazareth Hospital. “With the large volume of seniors in our area, it’s important that our joint replacement programs meet such a high standard of excellence.”

Nazareth’s joint replacement program covers the complete continuum of care and includes community education, diagnostics, comprehensive preoperative education classes, expert surgical care, specialized post-surgical nursing care, nationally accredited rehabilitation and post-rehab outpatient physical therapy.
