Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital to Host Dine with the Docs Community Program, March 14
Darby, PA (February 28, 2017): Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital invites its neighbors to Dine with the Docs on Tuesday, March 14. This free dinner program will feature a brief talk on Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and a Q-and-A session with gastroenterologist, Austin F. Hwang, MD. Afterward, guests can tour Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital’s new dedicated center for treatment of heartburn and reflux disease.
Dr. Hwang, a gastroenterologist at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, will speak about GERD and its effects on the digestive system. Commonly referred to as acid reflux, GERD is a chronic digestive disorder affecting almost 60 percent of adults in the U.S. annually. If untreated, GERD can damage the lining of the esophagus and hinder day-to-day life.
Dine with the Docs will take place in Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital’s Norman N. Cohen, MD, Auditorium at 6 p.m. Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital is located at 1500 Lansdowne Avenue, Darby, Pa.
