Mercy Health System Blesses New Central Scheduling Center

blessingCONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (January 26, 2017) – As another step toward improving patient access to care, Mercy Health System hosted a blessing ceremony in January 2017 to celebrate its new Central Scheduling Center, located at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pa.

Blessed by Mercy’s VP of Mission Integration, Sister Donna Watto, the new Central Scheduling Center will help Mercy Health System better track patient calls and enhance patient access to services, including hospital-based tests.

“At Mercy, ensuring that our patients have a great experience is among our top priorities,” said Gary Zimmer, SVP and CEO of the Mercy Health System Clinically Integrated Network. “As a health system with three acute-care facilities, the Central Scheduling Center helps us to better serve our patients and our communities and helps to promote system-wide growth for our hospitals.”

Consolidation of the system’s three individual call centers into one Central Scheduling Center allows Mercy Health System to share best practices across the system. There are currently 15 operators answering patient calls in the center, which is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
