ASSOCIATE CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER - MERCY SUBURBAN HOSPITAL
Mercy Suburban Hospital is a 126-bed hospital providing comprehensive services including emergency, surgery, cardiac, respiratory, orthopedic and rehabilitation, cancer care, diagnostic and interventional radiology and wound care. Mercy Suburban’s Center for Joint Replacement has been designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement by Independence Blue Cross. Mercy Suburban was the only hospital in Montgomery County recognized as a top performer on key quality measures by The Joint Commission. Most recently, the hospital was certified as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission. The hospital recently expanded services to include a sleep disorders center, bariatric surgery and a robotic surgery program featuring the da Vinci Surgical System. In the summer of 2012, a new 12,000-square-foot Cancer Center will open on the hospital’s East Norriton, PA campus. Founded in 1944, Mercy Suburban is a member of the Mercy Health System of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
The Associate Chief Medical Officer is a key member of Mercy Suburban Hospital’s senior leadership team, and works closely with the Mercy Health System CMO and the CEO of the Mercy Suburban Campus on matters relating to medical affairs and relationships with the Medical Staff. The Associate CMO collaborates with the leadership of the Medical Staff and the Mercy Suburban leadership team in the planning and day-to-day management of the organization with particular focus on medical affairs, resource utilization, quality assurance and patient safety. This position reports to the Mercy Suburban CEO with a dotted line to the MHS CMO.
Qualified candidates will be a graduate of an accredited medical school (MD or DO) , possess Board Certification. He or she should possess experience outside of medical training for patient care that would support the Chief Medical Officer’s administrative role. If the candidate has been educated in a subspecialty area, Board Certification/Board Eligibility in this subspecialty is required as per Medical Staff Bylaws. An active PA medical license is also required.
