Endoscopy
Gastroenterology/Gastrointestinal (GI) Services
Mercy Health System hospitals offers a full array of gastroenterology/gastroinestinal (GI) services to diagnose and treat diseases of the digestive system in addition to liver diseases, including hepatitis.
Skilled teams of board-certified physicians and clinicians use state-of-the-art technology to perform thousands of GI procedures each year. Procedures include colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, video capsule endoscopy, feeding tube placements, sigmoidoscopies, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatograms (ERCPs) and endoscopic ultrasounds.
Thinner and more efficient scopes allow for quick and easy procedures. In addition, these scopes have better imaging capabilities that aid in detection of pre-cancerous polyps and malignancies early.
Mercy's Gastroenterology Units are structured to offer patients maximum privacy and comfort. Expedited registration and check-in and private changing rooms provide a comfortable experience for our patients. Our skilled and dedicated nursing staff gives exceptional emotional support to the patient and clinical support of the physician.
