Laboratory Services
Mercy Health Laboratories provides quality outpatient and inpatient laboratory services, including blood work and specimen collections. Our Labs provide full diagnostic services in the areas of anatomic and clinical pathology including histology, cytology, necropsy, hematology, immunohematology, urinalysis, microbiology and chemistry.
At Mercy, patients will find a caring staff in our laboratories. Fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists, American Association of Blood Banks, and operating within the standards set by the Joint Commission, the Labs handle inpatient and outpatient needs for patients of all ages.
Ensuring Quality
Our Labs employ the techniques of total quality management in order to ensure quality and that patient care needs are met. These quality management techniques include monitoring key indicators, participation in the hospital-wide quality assurance program and responding to input from patients, physicians and hospital staff.
Clinical Outreach
Clinical Outreach provides laboratory services to the homebound patient and nursing homes. A Mercy phlebotomist can be sent to the private home or to the site to collect samples for lab testing. This service requires a physician's order so a visit can be scheduled.
Blood Draws and EKGs
Mercy Outpatient Laboratories perform blood draws and EKGs for patients with most insurances. Our Labs are authorized draw stations for Quest Laboratory for the convenience of our managed care patients. Appointments are not required for most tests.
