Mercy Health System Receives 2014 Press Ganey Commitment to Excellence AwardSM for Continuous Improvement in Employee Engagement
CONSHOHOCKEN, PA, November 5, 2014 – Mercy Health System (MHS) of Southeastern Pennsylvania has been named a 2014 Commitment to Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey Associates, Inc., the nation’s leading health care performance improvement company. MHS achieved this distinction by demonstrating the greatest improvement out of more than 11,000 health care facilities, including more than half of all U.S. hospitals, in quarterly employee engagement survey scores during the two-year award period.
“This award represents an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the patient experience,” said Susan Croushore, Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, MHS. “At Mercy Health System, our focus on providing quality, person-centered care in alignment with our mission and values makes a significant difference in improving employee engagement, achieving our objectives and supporting our communities.”
The award is based on the Colleague Commitment Score on the annual Press Ganey survey. Between 2011 and 2013, MHS survey response scores moved the System up 15 percentile points, the largest statistical improvement as compared to other healthcare facilities around the country with 2500 - 9999 employees.
"We are proud to partner with Mercy Health System,” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO of Press Ganey. “Achieving this level of continuous improvement reflects the organization’s unrelenting commitment to reduce patient suffering and deliver more patient-centered care.”
