Physicians Honored for Distinguished Service and Excellence in Teaching
Darby, PA (June 25, 2015) – The Department of Medicine at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, which comprises Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals, recently honored three physicians for Distinguished Service to the Department and for Excellence in Teaching.
David Addley, DO (Cardiology), Mark Gilbert, MD (Infectious Disease), and Michael Korman, MD (Pulmonary Medicine) were recognized during the hospitals’ Graduate Medical Education graduation ceremony.
Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chair of the Department of Medicine José Missri, MD presented the awards to the physicians, saying, “Dr. Addley, Dr. Gilbert and Dr. Korman represent the finest in their field. Not only do they deliver high-quality care and service to our patients, but they also share their knowledge and clinical expertise with our residents, providing them top-notch medical education in a community hospital setting.”
Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals, in affiliation with the Drexel University College of Medicine, offer accredited residency training in Internal Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology, General Surgery, as well as a Transitional Year Residency and Osteopathic accredited training in Internal Medicine. The Graduate Medical Education Program at Mercy has a faculty of more than 80 physicians who are dedicated to developing skilled and compassionate physicians.
