Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals Welcome Cardiac Specialists
Cardiac surgeon and electrophysiologist bolster Heart and Vascular program
DARBY (August 18, 2015): With a focus on improving the cardiovascular health of the community and enhancing its heart and vascular program, Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital and Mercy Philadelphia Hospital have recently welcomed two highly experienced cardiac specialists.
Robert Wenger, MD, has been appointed Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Marino Leonardi, MD, FACC has joined the medical staff.
Dr. Wenger is a member of the Penn Heart and Vascular network and will perform cardiac surgery at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. Dr. Wenger is board certified and fellowship trained in the most advanced heart surgery techniques, including bypass, valve surgery and aortic aneurysm repair.
Dr. Leonardi comes to Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals from Mercy Cardiology at Mercy Suburban Hospital, bringing extensive experience in the management of heart rhythm disorders. He will perform diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology procedures, as well as device implantations, in the electrophysiology lab at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.
Both physicians will provide consults at Mercy Fitzgerald and Mercy Philadelphia Hospitals.
