Mercy Welcomes Delaware County Officials, Community to New Center
Center offers convenient access to MPN practices and healthcare services
Darby, PA (September 29, 2015): Mercy Health System held a blessing and open house of its new Primary Care and Multi-Specialty Center last Thursday afternoon. Several Delaware County officials were on-site to tour the Center, which is located on the newly renovated first floor of the Medical Office Building on the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital campus.
“At Mercy Health System we are committed to putting the people we serve at the center of every behavior, action and decision in our ministry,” said Susan Croushore, Mercy Health System president and CEO. “Our investment in the Primary Care and Multi-Specialty Center is a great example of our people-centered approach to delivering better health and better care at lower costs in our community.”
Delaware County Executive Director Marianne Grace, State Senator Thomas McGarrigle, Yeadon Borough Mayor Rohan Hepkins, Imani R. Johnson, field representative from U.S. Senator Pat Toomey’s office, and Jeanne Ketcham, program coordinator for the Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation joined Croushore, Mercy Health System CEO and Senior Vice President of Acute Care Operations Kathryn Conallen, Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital Executive Director Susan Cusack, Mercy Physician Network President Dr. William Strimel, and Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital Vice President of Mission Integration Sister Donna Watto at the event. More than 100 Mercy Health System executives, board members, physicians, colleagues, and community members were also in attendance.
“We constantly strive to have an environment that’s truly patient centered, where access and convenience for our patients are high priorities,” said Dr. Strimel. “We try to remove any barriers and stressful factors that we have control over, so that the patient can be focused on what matters most: improving and maintaining their health and well-being.
“This Primary Care and Multi-Specialty Center here at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital was developed with that very notion. Not only can patients have convenient access to many physicians, diagnostics, and other ancillary services, but they can do so in a relaxed, comforting environment.”
The 15,000-square-foot Primary Care & Multi-Specialty Center features 26 exam rooms, a central waiting room for all of the practices that will accommodate more than 60 patients, nine restrooms, two labs, Wi-Fi access, renovated elevators, and new furniture and artwork.
The Primary Care & Multi-Specialty Center is home to five Mercy Physician Network practices: Mercy Medical Associates at Darby (primary care), Mercy Gastroenterology, Mercy Infectious Disease, Mercy Urology, and Women First at Darby (gynecology).
