Mercy Health System President and CEO Receives 2017 Pennsylvania Grassroots Champion Award
CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (July 3, 2017) – The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) recognized Susan Croushore, president and CEO of Mercy Health System, as the 2017 Pennsylvania Grassroots Champion Award recipient. The award was formally announced during HAP’s annual Leadership Summit in June.
Given in conjunction with the American Hospital Association (AHA), the Grassroots Champion Award recognizes hospital leaders who effectively educate elected officials on how major issues affect the hospital’s vital role in the community, who have done an exemplary job in broadening the base of community support for the hospital and who are tireless advocates for hospitals and their patients.
“I am honored to be recognized by the American Hospital Association and The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania for this prestigious award,” said Croushore. “It is critical our local and state leaders understand the needs and challenges hospitals face and how we can work together in the best interests of our communities to overcome them.”
Croushore is a well-established and well-known member of the Philadelphia hospital community, advocating on behalf of the underserved and vulnerable populations in Philadelphia. Appointed as president and CEO of Mercy Health System in 2015, Croushore has served on a number of boards, including the Ohio Hospital Association, American Heart Association Great Rivers Affiliate and The United Way, among others.
