Dine with the Docs: Lung Health at Mercy Philadelphia Hospital

West Philadelphia (November 5, 2018): On November 17, Mercy Philadelphia Hospital will continue its popular Dine with the Docs community Q&A series with “Take a Deep Breath: Awareness, Prevention, and Screenings to Keep Your Lungs Healthy.”  At the free event, participants will hear from a panel of experts from Mercy Philadelphia Hospital’s lung cancer team.

The panel will consist of Dr. Oleg Teytelboym, Dr. Ajay Pillai, oncologist Dr. Eugene J. Choi, and oncology nurse navigators Joy Hepkins and Sue LaSalle. The event will provide an interactive Q&A session and informative lecture with the lung health experts, as well as a complimentary meal.

Lung diseases are the leading cause of death in the world, prematurely killing about four million people each year, according to the Forum of International Respiratory Societies. Lung diseases, most prominently lung cancer, can negatively impact your health, limit your daily activities and shorten your life expectancy. While the prevalence of lung disease is increasing worldwide, many instances of lung disease go undiagnosed. Knowing the signs, symptoms and ways to prevent and screen for lung disease can lead to a greater quality of life.

Dine with the Docs is an ongoing educational series designed to create an open dialogue between Mercy Philadelphia Hospital physicians and members of the community regarding important health topics.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Mercy Philadelphia Hospital’s first floor cafeteria, located at 501 South 54th Street, Philadelphia, Pa. Registration is required for this event. To register, or for more information, call 1.877.GO MERCY or visit
