Dine with the Docs: Diabetes and Weight Loss at Nazareth

Northeast Philadelphia (January 24, 2019): On February 13, Nazareth Hospital will continue its popular Dine with the Docs community Q&A series with a discussion about diabetes and weight loss. At the free event, participants will hear from Abhiman B. Cheeyandira, MD, bariatric surgeon at Nazareth Hospital and Jeff Olson, DO, primary care physician at Mercy Primary Care at Holme Avenue. The event will provide an interactive Q&A session and informative lecture with Dr. Cheeyandira and Dr. Olson, along with a complimentary meal.

Over 100 million U.S. adults live with diabetes or prediabetes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Being overweight or obese increases the risk of health complications related to diabetes. Dr. Cheeyandira and Dr. Olson will discuss the basics of diabetes management and teach attendees about available bariatric weight-loss procedures.

Dine with the Docs is an educational series designed to create an open dialogue between Nazareth Hospital physicians and members of the community regarding important health topics.

The event will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Nazareth Hospital’s DiBello Conference Room, located at 2601 Holme Ave., Philadelphia, Pa. Registration is required for this event. To register, or for more information, call 215.335.6100 or visit
