The outpatient Mercy Pharmacy
More than your everyday drug store.
Discharged from the hospital with prescriptions to fill? Need medicine mailed to your home? Wondering about the interaction of over-the-counter cold medicines with your blood pressure pills?
The outpatient Mercy Pharmacy team at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital answers questions like these every day. And they do so with a smile on their face. Time is always taken to explain to patients how to take a certain medication, or what side effects they need to watch out for.
“We collaborate with all Mercy Fitzgerald departments to help people live healthy and stay out of the hospital,” says Mercy Pharmacy Director Carrie Connahan, RPh.
Conveniently located in the Sister Marie Lenahan Wellness Center on Mercy Fitzgerald’s campus, Mercy Pharmacy serves patients from nearby doctors’ offices and surrounding communities, as well as those leaving the hospital or emergency room. Mercy Pharmacy also serves residents of Mercy’s adjacent skilled nursing and senior facilities.
Mercy Pharmacy is more than an everyday drugstore, Carrie explains. It’s a community resource that offers things like free blood pressure screenings and diabetes help.
Mercy Pharmacy can also arrange to have medicine delivered to your home and automatic refills.
“The other day a patient brought us cake, just because she loves the service she receives at Mercy Pharmacy,” Connahan says. “That doesn’t happen often at a pharmacy.”
