Top-ranked stroke center at Mercy Philadelphia
Mercy Philadelphia Hospital is a certified primary stroke center
Mercy Philadelphia Hospital is a certified Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission. That means Mercy is prepared to treat any type of stroke, says Denis Dollard, MD, director of the Emergency Department.
To maintain the credentials, Mercy Philadelphia is evaluated every two years to make sure the high quality of patient care is maintained. In fact, Philadelphia’s rescue units are now required to take patients only to hospitals that have been certified as Primary Stroke Centers.
