Nazareth imaging services diagnose pain and stroke symptoms
Leading-edge MRI, X-rays, CT, mammograms and bone density scans
What do strange lumps, broken bones, stroke symptoms and abdominal or chest pain all have in common? These conditions are among the most common that Nazareth doctors and nurses see that require imaging tests to diagnose. Nazareth Hospital offers a complete range of state-of-the-art technology and the skilled staff needed for these advanced procedures.
Brand-new ultrasound equipment joins leading-edge imaging services that have long been at Nazareth, including MRI scanning, X-rays, CT scanning, digital mammography and DEXA bone density scanning equipment. The suite of technology makes Nazareth’s offerings comparable to the best imaging services in the region, says radiologist Lynne Taus, MD.
Women having routine or diagnostic mammograms with Nazareth’s digital mammography equipment – among the busiest machinery in the hospital – can expect prompt answers and personalized care from understanding staff members, Dr. Taus notes.
“The care should be personal – women get very nervous about mammography, so we try as much as possible to alleviate that,” she says.
“If they’re coming in for a diagnostic mammogram, they should know that day which direction we’re going. If it’s a routine screening mammogram, it will be read within 24 hours.”
And Nazareth’s imaging services are often the first and the best way to detect serious medical conditions.
Dr. Taus is adamant that routine mammograms for women age 40 and up are necessary for early detection of breast cancer. “Our best shot at catching a cancer when it’s small is yearly mammograms,” she adds.
