Recipe: Garlic-and-Onion-Flavored Kale Chips

Kale chipsIngredients:

1 large bunch of lacinato or curly kale, stems removed and roughly torn
2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp. maple syrup
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. freshly cracked black pepper
1/4 tsp. sea salt

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Toss kale leaves with balsamic vinegar and maple syrup. Then toss in garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Make sure leaves are evenly coated, then spread on baking sheets. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes.

Makes four servings. Each serving contains about 58 calories, 0 g fat, 0 g saturated fat, 0 g trans fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 177 mg sodium, 13 g carbohydrates, 5 g sugar, 2 g fiber, and 2 g protein.
